Meriola goloboffi Platnick & Ewing, 1995: 39, figs 110–112 (male holotype from Argentina: Santa Cruz: Lago Argentino: El Calafate, S 50.34524°, W 72.267175°, 23.I.1980, P. Goloboff, 1 male, temporary preparations MGM-00496–00497, MACN-Ar 9402, examined).
Diagnosis. This species is recognized by the prodistally expanded tegulum, and by the recurved RTA.
Description. Male described by Platnick & Ewing (1995). Female unknown.
Natural history and habitat. Unknown.
Distribution. Only known from the type locality in Santa Cruz province in Argentina and Última Esperanza province in Chile (Fig. 95a).
New records. CHILE: Región XII de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena: Provincia de Última Esperanza: Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, Laguna Larga, S 51.025000°, W 72.879167°, elev. 300 m, 7.XII.2000, under rocks in steppe, A. Miller, 1 male (MNHS 01561) .
