Type material. (CHINA: Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Mengla County, Menglun Town, Menglun Nature Reserve, leg. G. Zheng, canopy fogging): Holotype: Ƥ, Secondary tropical seasonal moist forest (N21º54.984', E101º16.982', 656 m), 10 August 2007, G. Zheng (IZCAS-Ar. 19081). Paratypes: 1 Ƥ, same data as holotype (IZCAS-Ar. 19082); 1 Ƥ, Secondary tropical seasonal moist forest (N21º54.390', E101º16.811', 612 m), 10 August 2007 (IZCAS-Ar. 19083); 1 Ƥ, Paramichelia baillonii plantation (about 20 years old, N21º54.200', E101º16.923', 608 m), 18 August 2007 (IZCAS-Ar. 19084).

Etymology. The specific name comes from the combination: sub + manca, and refers to the similarity of this species with H. manca sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to H. manca sp. nov., the differences are discussed in the diagnosis of H. manca sp. nov.

Description. Female (holotype): Total length 5.70. Prosoma 2.60 long, 2.10 wide; opisthosoma 3.10 long, 1.90 wide. Carapace brown with blackish brown markings. Ocular area with grayish white scales. Eye measurements: AME 0.10, ALE 0.24, PME 0.20, PLE 0.21, AME-AME 0.12; AME-ALE 0.08; PME-PME 0.28; PME- PLE 0.38. Eye row width measurement: I 0.30, II 0.70, III 1.25, IV 0.62. Clypeus height 0.42. Sternum yellow; chelicera, labium and endites brown; chelicera with 2 pro (1 large, 1 small) and 1 median-sized retromarginal teeth. Legs grayish brown. Leg measurements: I 10.90 (3.10, 3.60, 2.20, 1.00); II 8.90 (2.80, 3.20, 2.00, 0.90); III 6.80 (2.00, 2.50, 1.60, 0.70); IV 6.85 (2.05, 2.35, 1.70, 0.75), leg formula: 1243. Opisthosoma dorsally grayish yellow, laterally with black brown stripes; ventrally with gray marking mesally.

Epigynum (Figs 22 B–E, 23A–B). Atrium small, copulatory openings anteriorly situated, copulatory ducts thick, short; spermatheca globular.

Male: Unknown.

Variation. Total length: Ƥ 5.70–5.90 (n=4). Distribution. China (Yunnan).
