Type material examined. Holotype: ♂, “Papua: Kokoda 1200 ft,. v.1933, L.E. Cheesman ”, “ Holotype [red circular label]”, “ Eugubinus papuensis Wygod. ”, “in cobweb”, “NHMUK 013587483” (BMNH).

Remarks. This species was described from a male holotype and an additional male lacking head. An image of the holotype is presented (Fig. 27).
