Diagnosis of the family Galumnellidae Balogh, 1960 (a)

Gnathosoma with chelicerae pelopsiform, cheliceral setae chb absent, subcapitular genae and rutella fused to form elongate blades, rutella without teeth distally, adoral setae absent, length of distal palpal setae ul, sul and acm usually about half length of palptarsi. Other character states correspond to those given in diagnosis of superfamily above.

Statement of monophyly: Monophyletic, but nested within Galumnidae—see Note 2 in Taxonomic notes section

Distribution: Pantropical and Subtropical regions

Number of known taxa: five genera, 43 species
