Distribution: India (Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarakhand); China; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Myanmar; Sri Lanka; Taiwan; Thailand; Vietnam (Byun et al. 1998; Pinkaew 2006; Koçak & Kemal 2012; Nedoshivina 2013).

Hosts: Larvae are reported to feed on the leaves of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (Malvaceae), Melia azedarach (Meliaceae), and Jasminum sambac (Oleaceae), and in the fruit of Owenia venosa (Meliaceae) (Fletcher 1929, 1932; Diakonoff 1941, 1982; Yasuda 1969a; Park 1983; Horak 2006).
