Diagnosis. Ariadna isthmica is similar to A. boliviana, A. ipojuca n. sp. and A. gaucha n. sp. due to the morphology of male palp (Figs 37A‒B, 44A‒B, 58G‒H, 61A‒B), metatarsi IV (Figs 36F, 43F, 58F, 60F), and leg macrosetae of females, but differ by the presence of sinuous metatarsi I, with both extremes equal in size and similarly bended; basal region prolaterally bended, and distal region retrolaterally (Fig. 43C‒E); females differ from these species by the presence of a ventral lobe less sinuous (Fig. 44C‒D).

Description. Male (Paratype—Barro Colorado Island—AMNH). Carapace and chelicerae brownish orange (Fig. 43A). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange, with darker margins, and three pairs of fainted dark marginal areas (Fig. 43B). Palps orange (Fig. 44A‒B). Legs brownish orange, pairs I‒II darker, with the femur, patella and tibia marbled with fainted dark pigment, and dark diffuse rings in the distal region of metatarsus (Fig. 43C‒F). Abdomen grey, lighter ventrally (Fig. 43A‒B). Total length 6.24; carapace 3.12 long, 2.32 wide. Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter shorter than the bulb; bulb rounded, midportion shorter than the embolus and directed backwards; mid-portion/embolus transition conspicuous; embolus long and with a tubular tip (Fig. 44A‒B). Legs: slender and sparsely coated with setae (Fig. 43C‒F); metatarsi IV sinuous, in lateral view (Fig. 43F); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in legs II‒IV, extending to the median region of the metatarsi IV (Fig. 43F). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III.
