Type-material. ♂ holotype from Mata do Oiteiro, Ipojuca [08°24'00''S; 35°03'45''W], Ceará, Brazil, XII.2007 ‒ II.2008, A. Costa leg., deposited in IBSP 133641).
Diagnosis. Ariadna ipojuca n. sp. is similar to A. boliviana, A. isthmica and A. gaucha n. sp. due to the morphology of the male palp (Figs 37A‒B, 44A‒B, 58G‒H, 61A‒B) and metatarsi IV (Figs 36F, 43F, 58F, 60F) but differ by the presence of palps with a longer mid-portion and embolus, with a smooth curvature (Fig. 58G‒H), and metatarsi I with a series of ventro-prolateral macrosetae that decrease in size (Fig. 58C‒E).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality, Ipojuca, Ceará, Brazil.
Description. Male (Holotype). Carapace and chelicerae brownish orange (Fig. 58A). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange with darker margins, and three pairs of fainted dark marginal areas (Fig. 58B). Palps light orange (Fig. 58G‒H). Legs light brownish orange, pairs I‒II darker, with fainted dark diffuse rings in the distal region of the tibia, metatarsi and tarsi (Fig. 58C‒E). Abdomen grey, lighter ventrally (Fig. 58A‒B). Total length 5.84; carapace 2.88 long, 1.84 wide. Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter almost one and a half times longer than the bulb; bulb sub-rectangular, mid-portion slightly longer than the embolus and with a smooth curvature forwards; embolus with a tubular tip (Fig. 58G‒H). Legs: robust and coated with setae (Fig. 58C‒F); metatarsi IV sinuous, in lateral view (Fig 58F); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in tarsi I‒IV, extending to the median region of the metatarsi IV (Fig. 58F), but reduced in leg I. Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 2.84, patella 1.12, tibia 2.4, metatarsus 2.6, tarsus 0.68, total 9.64; II, 2.76, 1.08, 2.52, 2.72, 0.68, 9.76; III, 2.0, 0.88, 1.56, 1.72, 0.6, 6.76; IV, 2.32, 1.04, 1.8, 1.64, 0.6, 7.4.
