Diagnosis. Ariadna gaucha n. sp. is similar to A. boliviana, A. isthmica and A. ipojuca n. sp. due to the morphology of male palp (Figs 37A‒B, 44A‒B, 58G‒H, 61A‒B) and metatarsi IV (Figs 36F, 43F, 58F, 60F), differing from them, except A. ipojuca n. sp., by the presence of a less marked transition between mid-portion and embolus; it differs from A. ipojuca n. sp. by the abruptly curved embolus (Fig. 61A‒B); females differ from those by the presence of a strongly sinuous ventral lobe, with an expanded tip (Fig. 61C‒D).
Etymology. The specific name is an adjective in apposition, referring to the “gaucho”, people that live in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
