Diagnosis. Ariadna perkinsi is similar to A. crassipalpa, A. mollis, A. calilegua, A. changellkuk, A. boesenbergi and A. levii due to the dark abdominal pattern with arrow-shaped marks (Figs 1A‒C, 18A, F, 20A, F, 22A, F, 31A, E, 45A, F, 47A, F, 50A, F), but males differ by the presence of metatarsi I sinuous, with a strong bent in the median region, without macrosetae (Fig. 31D); females are distinguished by the presence of an anterior receptaculum with lobes flattened laterally, with irregular cuticle (Fig. 31I ‒J).

Description. Male (Holotype). Carapace and chelicerae orange (Fig. 31A). Endites light orange; labium orange. Sternum orange with darker margins (Fig. 31B). Palps light orange (Fig. 31C). Legs orange, with pairs I‒II darker. Abdomen whitish grey, with a fainted dark dorsal pattern comprising arrow-shaped marks (Fig. 31A‒B). Total length 7.0; carapace 3.7 long, 2.55 wide. Carapace with cephalic region elevated (Fig. 31A). Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter longer than the bulb; bulb rounded, mid-portion slightly shorter than the embolus, with an anterior bump; embolus tubular and slightly curved (Fig. 31C). Legs: robust and coated with setae (Fig. 31D); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present on legs I‒III. Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 4.3, patella 1.25, tibia 4.0, metatarsus 3.45, tarsus 0.75, total 13.75; II, 3.95, 1.3, 4.15, 3.65, 0.75, 13.8; III, 2.85, 1.05, 2.5, 2.55, 0.7, 9.65; IV, 3.3, 1.3, 2.85, 2.7, 0.65, 10.8. Female (IBSP 209956). Carapace brownish yellow. Chelicerae dark reddish brown, almost black (Fig. 31E). Endites brownish yellow, with the distal end dark; labium dark orange. Sternum yellow with darker margins, and three pairs of fainted dark marginal areas (Fig. 31F). Palps brownish yellow; tibia and tarsus reddish orange. Legs brownish yellow with pairs I‒II darker, and with distal region of metatarsus and tarsus marbled with dark pigment (Fig. 31G‒H). Abdomen lighter, with a conspicuous dark dorsal pattern comprising arrow-shaped marks, and two dark ventral spots next to the spinnerets (Fig. 31E‒F). Total length 6.8; carapace 3.28 long, 1.92 wide. Carapace with cephalic region elevated (Fig. 31E). Legs: robust and coated with setae (Fig. 31G‒H); legs I‒II with ventroprolateral and ventro-retrolateral tibial and metatarsal macrosetae of different sizes (Fig. 31G‒H). Leg formula: I- II-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 2.24, patella 1.04, tibia 1.84, metatarsus 1.6, tarsus 0.52, total 7.24; II, 2.0, 0.96, 1.8, 1.4, 0.48, 6.64; III, 1.52, 0.8, 1.2, 1.08, 0.48, 0.48, 5.08; IV, 1.84, 1.04, 1.72, 1.4, 0.52, 6.52. Variation. Females (n=4): Total length: 6.8‒11.6; carapace 2.8‒5.28 long, 1.7‒3.2 wide; femur I 2.0‒3.36. Distribution. Hawaii (Fig. 67).
