Tribe Tetrasteirini Emeljanov

Description. Gonapophyses IX curvilinear, average length 661.58 µm, width 49.42 µm; apex with 17 rounded teeth, strongly lobed dorsally, concave; apex porrect; margins carinated; narrow ventral membranous sheath, not reaching apex; base broadened. Smooth, flattened, space within carination of apex; 10 pits in apical area (Fig. 8C); diagonal surface sculpturing on shaft.

Notes. Tetrasteirini includes five species, all in genus Tetrasteira . The tribe is restricted to the Neotropics (southern Mesoamerica and South America; Barringer & Bartlett 2011). Tetrasteira was collected in large numbers by canopy fogging in Ecuador (3,186 specimens from 726 samples), and it was suggested that the genus is associated with canopy epiphytes (Barringer 2011, Barringer & Bartlett 2011).
