Tribe Neopunanini Emeljanov
Description. Gonapophyses IX linear, average length 1936.14 µm, width 77.97 µm, apical third concave ventrally (Fig. 8A), 13 rounded well-separated teeth along proximal half of gonapophyses, nine rounded teeth on apex (Fig. 8A); carination predominately on apical third; ventral membranous sheath on distal third, terminus bluntly rounded. Small, lace-like circular surface sculpturing along midline, diagonal sculpturing on ventral portion, circular pits along midline and base of gonapophyses IX.
Notes. Neopunanini includes eight species, all in the genus Neopunana . The genus is restricted to the Caribbean (Asche 1983). There are few plant associations for Neopunanini, such as Castilla elastica Sessé ex Cerv. (Panama rubber tree; Moraceae) (Caldwell & Martorell 1951, Urban et al. 2010). The junior author (CRB) has collected Neopunana by sweeping or beating woody vegetation in the British Virgin Islands (Bartlett 2000).
