Sadala mathani Simon, 1880: 327 (female lectotype and female paralectotype, here designated, from Pebas [‑3.3167, ‑718167), Loreto, Peru, no date, no collector, deposited in MNHN 2028).

Additional material examined. ECUADOR: Orellana: 1♀, Reserva Etnica Waorani, 1 km S Onkone Gare Camp (-0.9500, -76.2167), 19 January 1994, T . L. Erwin et al. leg. (USNM); 1♀, same locality as previous specimen, 25 June 1994, T . L. Erwin et al. leg. (USNM) .

Diagnosis. Females of M. mathani comb. nov. are distinguished from all congeners by the MS funnel-shaped, slightly wider than long with EP along the entire length of MS (Fig. 208). Males unknown.

Redescription. Female (MNHN 2028, lectotype): Total length 13.2. Prosoma 5.0 long, 5.2 wide. Opisthosoma 7.2 long, 4.4 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.36, 0.34, 0.20, 0.32; interdistances: 0.36, 0.15, 0.62, 0.62, 0.36, 0.26. Legs: I: 23.4 (6.6, 2.7, 6.1, 6.2, 1.8); II: 25.1 (7.2, 2.8, 6.8, 6.5, 1.8); III: 18.3 (5.7, 2.2, 4.5, 4.4, 1.5); IV: 20.3 (6.1, 2.3, 4.9, 5.3, 1.7). Epigyne: EF longer than wide; MAB inconspicuous; MS slightly longer than wide; EP triangular, slightly more than 2 times longer than wide; LL touching posteriorly (Fig. 208). Vulva: GP more than 3 times longer than wide, curving antero mediad, arising from ducts at first turn; SP ovoid; FD laterad (Figs 209–210).

Male: unknown.

Variation. Females (n = 2): total length 13.2–14.1; prosoma length 5.0–5.5; femur I length 6.5–6.6.

Distribution. Only known from the type locality (Fig. 318).
