REMARKS. The large proportion of black on the head and mesothorax along with the transverse black fascia on the anterior pronotal collar are unique to the species within the genus (Sanborn 2016c). The species has been associated with the Chaco floristic province in Argentina (Sanborn et al. 2011a; Sanborn & Heath 2014).

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2011b; 2013; 2016c; Sanborn & Heath 2014).

MATERIAL EXAMINED. “ Bolivia, Departamento de Santa Cruz / Provincia Cordillera / Estancia Perforación / 19° 40’48.82”S / 61°48’49.58”W / Altitud 360 m / Parque Nacional Gran Chaco / Kaa-Iya / 25/Nov. (number 1 in circle) / 2001” two females (AFSC, from Gonzalo Navarro).
