Original data: “ TANGANYIKA: Handeni, 350 m., 25/ 27.IV.1957. Holotype mâle au Musée Royal de l’Afrique Centrale ” (Villiers 1962: 465) .

Type locality: Tanganyika: Handeni [Tanzania] .

Current status: Valid species (Coscarón 2002: 35–36).

Remarks: Villiers (1962: 465) designated a holotype for this species; it is now deposited in RMCA. No paratypes were mentioned. A single male deposited in the MNHN is from the same locality as the holotype, but since it was not listed in the original description, it has no type status, with no regard to the paratype label it bears.
