Perlidae Latreille 1802

The largest family of Plecoptera, the Perlidae include>1,000 described species distributed throughout the Neotropical, Holarctic, Oriental, and Afrotropical regions (Fochetti & Tierno de Figueroa 2008). The Neotropical fauna of Perlidae includes 10 genera and approximately 390 species (Froehlich 2010a).
