Type material. NHMUK 1901.10.3.89–1901.10.3.90, syntypes .

Distribution. Philippines (Sowerby 1901; Hidalgo 1905; Faustino 1928; Albano et al. 2019).

Remarks. The genus Triforis is of feminine gender, therefore the name should be Triforis picturata .

Marshall (1983) considered this name a junior synonym of Triphoris (Ino) elegans Hinds, 1843 .
