Erebia alberganus (De Prunner, 1798)

— recorded by the author in the company of M. Gascoigne-Pees at the Čakor pass on July 14th 2017 (Fig. 7). The species was widespread and in good numbers in suitable habitats. Specimens were mainly worn. In the neighbouring countries the species is present in Serbia and Bulgaria, on Stara Planina (Abadjiev 2001; Popović et al. 2013), and in Macedonia in the Šar Planina massif (Melovski 2002) and Korab mountain (Louy et al. 2013). The discovery of this species on Čakor pass comes as a surprise, since the area has been surveyed by several entomologists (Koçak 1989; Jakšić 2003b; Weiss 1975) and the species is evidently common in suitable habitats.
