Family Dudgeoneidae

Adults are medium sized (with wingspan of 28–72 mm), antennae are unipectinate or rarely bipectinate to tip in both sexes, forewing with reddish brown with circular, silvery white spots (Edwards et al. 1999). Globally, the family comprises 57 species in six genera (Nieukerken et al. 2011) with most of the species reported from Australian and Ethiopian region (Schulze & Fiedler, 1996). In India, the family is known by a single species only.
