The pseudoterrestris Group

Diagnosis: Coelotine spiders in the pseudoterrestris group can be easily distinguished from the atropos group and the charitonovi group by the large, anteriorly extending copulatory ducts in the female (Fig. 2), and in the male by the narrower patellar apophysis and the long, slender conductor (Figs 3, 4). The exitialis group from Japan, which is not well studied, is most similar to the pseudoterrestris group in having a narrow patellar apophysis and more or less slender, long conductor. The exitialis group species from Japan showed short, medially (between spermathecae) or slightly anteriorly extending copulatory ducts, which is different from the distinctly extending (either anteriorly or laterally) copulatory ducts.

Distribution: China (Yunnan), Thailand (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai) (Figs 154–157).

Composition: Nine species: Coelotes acicularis sp. nov., C. guangxian Zhang et al. 2003, C. pseudoguangxian sp. nov., C. pseudoterrestris Schenkel 1963, C. pseudoyunnanensis sp. nov., C. suthepicus Dankittipakul et al. 2005, C. thailandensis Dankittipakul & Wang 2003, C. yanhengmei sp. nov., and C. yunnanensis Schenkel 1963 .
