Boana bandeirantes (Caramaschi & Cruz)

The advertisement call of Boana bandeirantes has been described previously as a compound call with two note types “A” and “B” (Pinheiro et al. 2012), but the type calls were not investigated according to the social context. We observed short calls formed from one to three equal notes, that we consider here as the advertisement calls (Table 2; Figure 4A; SM I). This call is considered a pulse repetition sound (Köhler et al. 2017). We consider the type “B” as a territorial call, emitted less frequently (approximately 35% of the registered calls), observed when males’ density was higher (personal observation). This call is longer and composed of several equal notes emitted quickly (Figure 4B).
