Remarks. Species of Nearctic origin (Kovalenko et al. 2016), with natural hosts such as Yucca sp. ( Asparagaceae) and other semisucculent plants. Hatch (1940) observed C. angustus in a flour mill in Seattle in 1939. Cynaeus angustus is considered a potential storage insect pest globally (Furui et al. 2020), and it has already been reported to cause damage to various stored grains, particularly corn (Dunkel et al. 1982). The species was recently found in Romania (Pintilioaie & Teodorescu 2021), and the current new records suggest that it already has some stable populations spread across the country.
