Genus Garthiope Guinot, 1990

Type species. Micropanope spinipes A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 [Type locality: Abrolhos, Brazil].

Remarks. Garthiope is amphi-American with G. barbadensis (Rathbun, 1921) [ Pilumnus] and G. spinipes (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880) [ Micropanope] on the Atlantic coast, and G. anchialina Guinot & Iliffe, 1991, and G. fraseri (Garth, 1946) [ Micropanope] on the eastern Pacific side (Guinot 1990; Guinot & Iliffe 1991).
