Eurhopalothrix clypeata Brown & Kempf, 1960
(Fig. 5 B)
Eurhopalothrix clypeata Brown & Kempf, 1960: 205, fig. 37. Holotype worker: Guyana, between Cuyuni and Mazaruni Rivers, 7 Sep 1935 (N. A. Weber) [MCZC] (not examined).
Geographic range. Guyana.
Comments. This species is still known only from the unique holotype worker. It is most similar to E. pilulifera and E. alopeciosa, sharing the small size; a similar arrangement and number of erect setae, these almost circular, nearly as broad as wide; and abundant ground pilosity that is strongly flattened and conspicuous. Eurhopalothrix clypeata has an arcuate transverse carina on the clypeus, a character so far unique in the genus.
