Material examined. 5 males, 2 ov. females, Ilha de Santa Bárbara (17°57’49”S 38°41’53”W), coll. G.O. Soledade, 22.viii.2013, intertidal, under rocks, UESC 1551; 3 males, 3 ov. females, same collection data, 24.viii.2013, UESC 1552; 2 males, 1 ov. female, same collection data, 02.ix.2013, UESC 1553; 1 male, 1 ov. female, same collection data, 03.ix.2013, UESC 1554.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—southern Florida, Caribbean Sea, French Guyana and Brazil (Ceará to São Paulo) (Anker 2012).

Previous records from Abrolhos. None.

Remarks. The species is recorded for the first time from the Abrolhos Archipelago, although previous records of A. armillatus H. Milne-Edwards, 1837 from this area [e.g., Smith 1869, as A. heterochaelis (see Christoffersen 1984); Gomes Corrêa 1972; Young & Serejo 2005] may correspond, at least in part, to A. carlae (see also Soledade & Almeida 2013).
