Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, North Carolina to Florida, Gulf of Mexico and Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, Ceará to São Paulo). Central Atlantic—Ascension Island. Indo-West and Central Pacific (Williams 1984; Coelho & Ramo-Porto 1998; Coelho et al. 2006; Gregati et al. 2006).
