Genus Novafabricia Fitzhugh, 1990
?(AL) Novafabricia infratorquata (Fitzhugh, 1983) DISTRIBUTION: SA.
LITERATURE RECORDS: Licciano & Giangrande 2006; Castelli et al. 2008.
REMARKS: Alien species in the Mediterranean, with western Atlantic origin (Zenetos et al. 2010). N. infratorquata was described from Belize (Caribbean Sea) (Fitzhugh 1983) and later reported by Bick (2005) for the Gulf of Mexico and the Western Mediterranean Sea. SA specimens were reported from Otranto, but the limited available material did not allow a good comparison with the description and figures provided by Bick (2005). In spite of the identification being uncertain and not definitive, the specimens from Otranto were considered to belong probably to the species N. infratorquata (Licciano & Giangrande 2006) .
