Genus Paradyte Pettibone, 1969
?(AL) Paradyte crinoidicola (Potts, 1910)
DISTRIBUTION: CA.
LITERATURE RECORDS: Radić 2009.
REMARKS: Radić (2009) reported the species along the Iž Island (CA). The only previous record of this species from the Mediterranean Sea was near Kassos Island (Greece, Eastern Mediterranean) by Barnich & Fiege (2003). These authors analyzed a specimen collected during the “Calypso” expedition in 1964, and determined it as Paradyte cf. crinoidicola thus considering the presence of this species in the Mediterranean Sea as questionable. Because of the above the presence of this species in the Adriatic is herein considered questionable. It is considered an alien species in the Mediterranean with Indo-Pacific origin (Zenetos et al. 2010).
