Current status: Lixus nordmanni Hochhuth, 1847 is a valid species.
Type. In Hochhuth’s collection in DEI, is a female (pinned through the right elytron, right fore tarsus missing) bearing the handwritten labels: “Caucasus”, “ L. nordmanni Hochh., Hochh. ”, and fitting the description with type locality as Caucasus. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus nordmanni Hochh., L. Gültekin des. 2006”.
Remarks. This species is closely related to Lixus iridis Olivier, from which differs by a longer rostrum and rounded apex of the aedeagus.
