Current status: Lixus subulatus Faust, 1891 is a valid species.
Type. In Faust’s collection at SMTD, is a male mounted on a card (right fore tarsus beyond segment 2 missing) bearing the handwritten labels: “Chanskaja, Plüschtsch. [Chanskaja Stavka (Plüschtschevsky- Plüschtschik)]” “[golden square]”, and fitting the type locality as “Chanskaja Stavka (Plüschtschevsky- Plüschtschik)”. It is here designated as lectotype and has been labeled “ Lectotypus, 3, Lixus subulatus Faust, Gültekin des. 2008” (Fig. 11). Three females mounted on cards with the same labels above, are here designated as paralectotypes with “ Paralectotypus, Ƥ/Ƥ/Ƥ, Lixus subulatus Faust, Gültekin des. 2008. One of the paralectotypes has no right funicle, another has no right fore tarsus.
Remarks. This species is the smallest of the L. incanescens group.
