This species is very similar to Pterostichus schuelkei, but differs from the latter by: (1) hind angle forming indistinct obtuse angle (completely rounded in Pterostichus schuelkei); (2) body larger and wider than Pterostichus schuelkei; (3) ventral carina of median lobe of aedeagus stronger and longer than in Pterostichus schuelkei .

Distribution.

Known only from the holotype, collected in Wenxian, Gansu, without further detailed locality.

Discussion.

This species is very close to Pterostichus schuelkei . We assign it to Morphohaptoderus for the same reason as Pterostichus schuelkei .
