Leaf mine. (Fig. 126) Long, narrow, whitish, leading from near the tip of the leaf into the sheath. In the mines on Dichanthelium and × Triticosecale, several branches emanated from the sheath.
Puparium. Shining, yellowish brown, somewhat flattened (Spencer & Steyskal 1986); whitish in the example we examined.
Distribution. Widespread in the New World, including the Caribbean, Central America, and South America; also recorded from Mongolia, East Siberia, and Middle Asia (Boucher 2002).
