Agromyza sp. 6

Material examined. MASSACHUSETTS: Nantucket Co., Nantucket, Nantucket Conservation Foundation Bird Sanctuary ( North Beach St.), 11.vi.2013, em. 21–27.iii.2014, C.S. Eiseman, ex Rosa multiflora, #CSE1016, CNC384739–384741 (3♀) .

Host. Rosaceae: Rosa multiflora Thunb.

Leaf mine. Greenish to pale brownish upper surface linear-blotch, with frass in scattered particles (forming two rows in the linear portion) and irregular lumps.

Puparium. Brown; formed outside the mine.

Comments. These three females may represent the normally bivoltine Agromyza idaeiana Hardy, which is recorded from Rosa spp. in Europe (Ellis 2016), but it is conceivable that they belong to a distinct, strictly univoltine species.
