Niger, Tanzania, Botswana, Cape Verde, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Mali, Namibia, Rwanda, Réunion, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Oman, Afghanistan, Iran (Amsel 1961, 1970; Nuss et al. 2003 –2022; De Prins & De Prins 2011 –2021).
Remarks. Achyra coelatalis was reported from Iran as Loxostege fredi Amsel, 1961 . The latter species was described by Amsel (1961) based on one male and one female collected by him from Afghanistan (Golbahar) in 1956 and several specimens (paratypes) previously collected by Fred Brandt from Iran (Sarzeh [Hormozgan Province] and Shiraz [Fars Province]) in 1937.
