Eutichurus zarate Bonaldo, 1994: 123, figs 54̄55, 109. Female holotype from Peru, Lima, Bosque de Zárate (Gigantón), 2860 m, 20.IV.1980, I. Franke leg., [11°55'53.6"S 76°28'22.0"W], (MUSM VF5093, not re-examined).
Diagnosis. Males of E. zarate resemble those of E. murgai (Figs 4, 6) by the wide RTA apex, but differ by the sclerotized conductor (Figs 9, 11). Females are promptly recognized by the excavated anterior projections of the epigynum, with digitiform apices, and by the laterally constricted posterior plates (Bonaldo 1994: fig. 54).
Description. Male (MUSM 504416). Colour in ethanol: carapace orange, thoracic groove mark reddish. Chelicerae, endites and labium brownish red. Sternum yellow with brown margins. Legs yellow. Chelicerae with 3 promarginal teeth, the second the largest, and 4 retromarginal teeth separated by twice their width. Abdomen pale yellow. Tarsi I–IV with moderate scopulae, and metatarsi I–II with sparse scopulae. Total length 12.0. Carapace 5.4, long, 4.0 wide. Eye diameters: AME 0.24, ALE 0.27, PME 0.23, PLE 0.22. Eye interdistances: AME–AME 0.25, AME–ALE 0.21, PME–PME 0.31, PME–PLE 0.45, AME–PME 0.23, ALE–PLE 0.11, clypeus AME 0.17, clypeus ALE 0.19. Leg and palp measurements: palp 5.3 (2.3, 0.9, 1.1, -, 2.0); leg I 19.4 (5.1, 2.3, 5.0, 5.0, 2.0); leg II 18.1 (4.9, 2.1, 4.5, 4.7, 1.9); leg III 14.3 (4.1, 1.8, 3.2, 3.7, 1.5); leg IV 19 (5.3, 2.0, 4.5, 5.4, 1.8). Leg Formula I- IV-II-III. Spination: palpal femur: d 0-1-1; tibia p 1-1. Leg. I femur d 1-1-0, p 0-0-1, r 0; tibia d 0, p 0, r 0, v p1-2- 0; metatarsus d 0, p 0, r 0, v 2-2 -1. II—femur d 1-1-0, p 0-d1-d1, r 0; tibia d 0, p 0-0-1, r 0, v p1-2-0; metatarsus d 0, p 0, r 0, v 2-2 -1. III—femur d 1-1-0, p 0-d1-d2, r 0-d1-d1; tibia d 0, p 1-1, r 1-1, v 2-2 -0; metatarsus d p1r1-p2r1- p1r1, p 0-0-1, r 0-0-1, v 2-2 -1. IV—femur d 0-1-1, p 0-0-d1, r 0-0-d1; tibia d 0, p 1-1, r 1-1, v 2-2 -0; metatarsus d p1r1-p1r1-p1r1, p 0-1-1, r 0-0-1, v 2-2 -1. Palp: Tibia strong, half the cymbium length; RTA single, large, distally wide, apex projected dorsally; tegulum with bifurcated projection near MA insertion; MA apically placed, median prong small, with rounded distal margin; conductor with hyaline base, distally a sclerotized lamella, gently curved retrolaterally; embolus inserted medially, not fused to tegulum, filiform, with narrow base, without processes (Figs 9 ̄11).
