Genus Nyssodesmus Cook, 1896
Type species: Nyssodesmus alboalatus Cook, 1896, by original designation.
13 described species, from Nicaragua to Panama (Recuero & Sánchez-Vialas 2018).
Diagnosis. Differs from other genera of the family in the gonopodal telopodite usually being longer, with acropodite much like in Barydesmus (see above), but rather abruptly (vs smoothly) bent towards coxite, often with a considerably expanded lateral branch (lb) and a solenomere (sl) of varying degrees of development, from virtually absent to long and directed sublaterad (cf. Shelley & Martínez-Torres 2013).
