Type data

This species was described based on an undetermined number of specimens of both sexes collected by J. Ogilvie at Barbados. Cockerell (1939) mentioned that the type of the species was a male.A male specimen belonging to the type series is currently housed at NHMUK and was labeled as type by Cockerell himself. Another male of the type series was found at NMNH and was labeled by Cockerell as cotype. The female specimen mentioned in the original description was not found. Comment

Moure et al. (2007) erroneously mentioned that the type series was composed of female syntypes.
