Distribution. West Palaearctic (excluding north) (Meregalli & Fremuth 2013).

Material examined. Literature data only.

Biology. Host plants in Europe are not yet documented; in Morocco and Israel C. excoriatus was observed on Emex spp. ( Polygonaceae) (Scott & Shivas 1990) that suggests it could be found in Ukraine on Polygonaceae .
