Distribution. Alps, Carpathians, South Siberia. In South Siberia it occurs from Altai to Baikal lake.
Material examined. Zakarpatska Prov.: 1 spec. (KUMN) Mukachevo Distr., Karpaty, B. Yakushenko leg., 07.viii.1971 ; 2 spec. (KUMN) 17 km NE Uzhhorod, Kamjanytsya, Lypova Skala Mt. Range, Antolovecka Polyana, V. Mirutenko leg., 30.v.1996 .
Biology. Montane deciduous forests. Adults occur in V–VIII. Polyphagous.
Note. There are two closely related species in South Siberea, O. grandineus Germar, 1824 and O. oberti Faust, 1886; the former has unclear status.
