Distribution. Possibly originates from Oriental Region; it was introduced with tamarind and naturalised in many tropical countries worldwide. (Plarre 2010; Lyal 2011)

Material examined. Crimea: 1 spec. (SIZK) Simferopol Distr., Pozharskoye, S. V. Sviridov leg., 24.vi.1991 .

Biology. Natural habitats in Ukraine are unknown. Monophagous on Tamarindus indica (Fabaceae) (Cotton 1920; Plarre 2010)
