Type species. Rudiosmylus ningchengensis Ren & Yin, 2003: 6 (by original designation).
Diagnosis. Hind wing relatively narrow, subtriangular, slightly curved posteriorly with a narrow apex; subcostal veinlets rather dense, forked, with many interlinking crossveins; RA area with at most four rows of irregular cells; RP very slightly curved anteriorly, and with seven branches before distal curve anteriorly distal branches of RP with some crossveins and irregular forking; end-twigging irregular, elongated with forks originating relatively distant from wing margin; area between MA and MP with two rows of cells. CuA and CuP deeply forked, branches of CuA forming a large triangular area; FW unknown.
Comments. Only known from the holotype, which consists of an almost complete and well-preserved hind wing.
