The species has an Atlantic-Circum-Mediterranean distribution (HECKMANN et al., 2015; DUSOULIER, 2020; AUKEMA, 2024). 9108274AFFA2FF9AFF0D73D4FE553E56.taxon	distribution	Herein, the first record of M. fossularum in the Canary Islands (Spain) is reported: On 13 - 08 - 2024, a specimen of this species was found in the village of Santa Úrsula, located in the north-western part of the island of Tenerife.
