853687F4FFEEEE4E76CA5DCB0727C0B6.taxon	description	Fig. 1 – 2 Adult habitus. Head yellowish; fronto-clypeal area yellowish, biocellate, ocelli large and separated by half their diameter; occipital suture distinct, and the M line prominent. Basal section of antennae yellow, transitioning to a blackish-brown towards the apex. Palpi pale brown. Pronotum brown and rectangular, posterior narrower than anterior. Legs yellow-brown with brown on proximal of tarsus; wings hyaline, veins pale brown (Fig. 1). Male. Length of body 11 mm; terga 1 – 8 simple; the middle of tergum 9 features a membranous dimple, both sides emarginate and adorned with a round patch of sensilla basiconica. Additionally, there is a patch of sensilla basiconica in the central membranous area; the hemitergal processes of tergum 10 are strongly sclerotized with a sharp tip that curves outward and a stout base (Fig. 1). The penis tube is short and robust, featuring a transverse, wide band of sclerite on the dorsal side of the proximal end (Fig. 2). The sclerite is more pronounced on both sides than in the center. In the middle of the sclerite band, extremely fine granules are present. A longitudinal strip of sclerite extends from the central inner area towards the base, giving the dorsal sclerite of the penis tube a slight " T " shape. The endophallus is membranous and short, with a rounded, wide terminal end on the dorsal side. The ventral surface of the endophallus is prominent, featuring a cluster of large black spines in the center, along with a row of large black spines on either side. Smaller spines are present above and below the central large black spine, as well as above the large spines on either side. Female. unknown.	en	Zeng, Liang-Liang, Huo, Qing-Bo, Du, Yu-Zhou (2025): A new species and a new record of Phanoperla (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Yunnan, China. 853687F4FFEEEE4E76CA5DCB0727C0B6.taxon	discussion	Remarks. The new species is closely related to P. vietnamensis Zwick, 1986 (see fig. 5 in Wang et al, 2022), but exhibits distinct characteristics in the endophallus. In P. menglunensis sp. nov., smaller spines are located above and below the central large black spines, as well as above the large spines on either side. In contrast, P. vietnamensis features a dorsobasal finger-shaped lobe and a U-shaped patch of hooks on the endophallus, which is visible ventrally.	en	Zeng, Liang-Liang, Huo, Qing-Bo, Du, Yu-Zhou (2025): A new species and a new record of Phanoperla (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Yunnan, China. 853687F4FFEDEE4876CA58E804E0C7ED.taxon	description	Male. Tergum 9 with lateral patches of sensilla basiconica set on low mounds and small median patch set in depression between lateral patches. The inner hemiterga also have a finger-like shape with sensilla basiconica, while the narrow processes of the hemitergite extend to the middle of tergum 9 and feature sharp tips (Fig. 3). The penis is membranous, tubular in shape, and slightly “ S ” shaped. The sclerite of the penis tube broadly covers the dorsal surface from the medium length to near the apex, extending around the dorsolateral margins. The endophallus features lateral patches of spines near the base and a large apical patch. Near the central part of the ventral surface, there is a small patch of spines, and the proximal end of the endophallus is densely covered with many small black spines, with the largest spines forming a partial ring near the midpoint of the patch (Fig. 4). Female. Forewing length 9 – 9.5 mm. Subgenital plate slightly produced and deeply notched, dividing plate into a pair of small lobes. Lobes of plate bear several long thin setae and a few thick setae occur anterior to notch (Sivec and Stark, 2010).	en	Zeng, Liang-Liang, Huo, Qing-Bo, Du, Yu-Zhou (2025): A new species and a new record of Phanoperla (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Yunnan, China. 853687F4FFEDEE4876CA58E804E0C7ED.taxon	discussion	Remarks. We collected this species in Yunnan Province, located in the southwest of China, bordering Myanmar to the west and adjacent to Laos and Vietnam to the south, not far from Thailand. This species was originally described from Thailand by Sivec and Stark (2010). The male's head pattern, dorsal terminalia, and spine lines on the penis closely match the illustrations provided by Sivec and Stark (2010). However, some diagnostic features in the original drawings were unclear. Here, we provide high-resolution, color images to facilitate accurate morphological identification of this species in future studies.	en	Zeng, Liang-Liang, Huo, Qing-Bo, Du, Yu-Zhou (2025): A new species and a new record of Phanoperla (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Yunnan, China.
