Up to now, it has only been reported from the island of Tenerife (BAENA & SANTOS, 2021; VAN DER HEYDEN, 2022).

Now, the species can be reported from the island of Lanzarote, too: On 07-08-2022, Warren Stevens photographed an adult specimen of Z. renardii in Puerto Calero, located at the southeastern coast of the island (Fig. 1). The photo was uploaded to the online database iNaturalist (see here).

On 13-08-2022, a nymph (Fig. 2) and an adult specimen of Z. renardii were photographed by Warren Stevens in the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park near Puerto del Carmen, about six kilometres east of Puerto Calero. The adult specimen was preying – very likely on a specimen of Ancistrocerus sp. ( Hymenoptera: Vespidae) (Fig. 3).

Thus far, Z. renardii has been found on two of the Canary Islands. Very likely, the species is present on other islands of the archipelago, too.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/367087D66127AB7EF0F2930BFD51AF92	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
