Diagnosis. Antenna with 45–59 (females) or 38–45 antennomeres (males); apical antennomere acuminate ( Fig. 7View FIGURES 1–11; Fig. 43 in van Achterberg, 1989); eyes glabrous and distinctly emarginate; maxillary palp 6 segmented; labial palp 4-segmented; occipital carina nearly complete or interrupted medio-dorsally ( Figs 1View FIGURES 1–11, 13View FIGURES 13–22, 24View FIGURES 24–32), in lateral view usually fused with hypostomal carina ( Figs 3View FIGURES 1–11, 15View FIGURES 13–22, 26View FIGURES 24–32); vertex often aciculate medially; malar suture present ( Figs 2View FIGURES 1–11, 14View FIGURES 13–22, 25View FIGURES 24–32).
