This species has wide distribution throughout the western hemisphere, being known from the USA, Mexico Antilles, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Suriname, Brazil (GO, MG, ES, RJ, SC), Peru and Argentina ( Stål 1860; Champion 1898; Nieser and Alkins-Koo 1991; Polhemus and Polhemus 1993; Nieser and Melo 1997; Torres et al. 2008). Nieser and Melo (1997) previously recorded P. brachialis from Espírito Santo State, but without citing specific localities.
