Enderleina froehlichi Ribeiro­Ferreira, 1996:146 View in CoL , Figs. 1–6 View FIGURES 1–7 ; Stark, 2001:411. Diagnosis. Body light brown, tinted with orange. Head brown except near the base of the antenna, where it is light yellow; three ocelli. Pronotum brown to orangish posteriorly ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Wings infuscated with brown. Penial armature with bifid hooks and distinct spines on the base. Subgenital plate of female with rounded posterior margin and row of distinct subapical spines.

The male is redescribed and figured with more detail in order to better characterize this species.

Redescription of male holotype ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Body light brown. Head ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–7 ) light brown except anteriorly toward the base of the antenna which is light yellow. Frons with conspicuous light brown spots, reaching from the anterior ocellus to inner margins of the compounded eyes. Maxillary and labial palpi dark yellow. Antenna light yellow with small light yellow bristles.

Pronotum light brown to orangish ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–7 , alcohol preserved specimen). Coxae and trochanter light yellow; femora light brown with long posteroventral bristles; tibiae light yellow; tarsomeres brown. Wings amber ( Figs. 4–5 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Abdomen and cerci light yellow, with setae longer laterally. Sternum nine ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 8–15 ) wider than long with bristles longer laterally; hammer rounded, flattened; paraproct ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8–15 ) with subapical denticle long. Tergum ten ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8–15 ) with two submedian groups of short and heavy setae. Penial armature ( Figs. 11– 13 View FIGURES 8–15 ) covered with distinct setae at basal half; lateral process strong and bifid and funnel shaped distally.

Description of female ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Forewing from 9.5–10.7 mm long. Antennae brown. Femora with basal two­thirds light brown and distal one­third dark brown; tibiae brown; tarsomeres brown. Cerci long, segments 1–7 light yellow, others brown with longer setae laterally. Posterior margin of subgenital plate (sternum eigth) ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8–15 ) strongly rounded with shallow median emargination, long setae more densely distributed on the distal half and a more distinct series on the posterior margin. Vaginal sclerite ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8–15 ) mostly membranous and striated.

Egg unknown.

Condition of the holotype: abdomen dissected in an Eppendorf ® tube, remainder of the body with exuvium in Eppendorf ® tube, both in the same bottle, in alcohol.
