A junior subjective synonym of Tenthredo (Maculedo) maculata Geoffroy, 1785 . Synonymy by Zirngiebl (1940).
TYPES. Tenthredo Semseyi [sic!] Mocsáry, 1883: 4–6. Syntypes Ƥ 3, “ad thermas Herculis sacras Mehadienses in monte Domogled”. 1Ƥ syntype, obviously subsequently labeled “Transsylvania Mehádia Damogled” [= Romania: Domogled Mountains] examined.
DISCUSSION. T. semseyi is sometimes treated as a dark southeastern European subspecies of maculata , but this seems not to be justified.
