Material examined. St 14, 09/11/2009, 10h–12h, La Prudente bank, 12°38'50.68"S, 44°58'41.93"E, coll. KUW fieldwork, scuba diving 15–17 m, sediment suction pump, sandy bottom, coral boulders, 1 male (LC 4.0 mm), 1 ovigerous female (LC 5.0 mm, LT 31 mm), MNHN-Na 16037.

Colouration (fig. 11). Body transparent, with red markings arranged with longitudinal rows on carapace and abdomen, similar red markings also present on legs and antennal scales.

Distribution. Type locality Samoa. Also known from Kenya, Zanzibar, Comoro Islands, Seychelles, La Réunion, Maldives, Andaman Islands, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia (Queensland), New Caledonia, Fiji, Marshall Islands, Panama, Colombia.

Remarks. The specimens agree with the previous descriptions and illustrations. The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty. This is the first time to report the colouration of the species.
