Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4. A, B, E, F C, 4F, 5B, 7D

Halictus zonulus kansuensis Blüthgen 1934a: 7 [Syntypes: Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden, ♀♂, type locality = S. Kansu (Gansu Prov.), China].

Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) ezoense Hirashima & Sakagami, 1966 , in Sakagami et al. 1966: 673 [Holotype: ELKU, ♀, type locality = Sapporo, Japan, examined]. Synonymy by Ebmer (1978a: 197).

Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) kansuense: Ebmer 1978a: 197 View in CoL –198; Sakagami & Tadauchi 1995: 181 –183 [♀♂, in a comparative notes of the description of L. nipponicola Sakagami & Tadauchi, 1995 View in CoL ], 184 [♀♂, illustration]; Ebmer & Maeta 1999: 243 [♀, photograph].

Lasioglossum (Leuchalictus) kansuense: Pesenko 1986: 141 View in CoL [in key]; Pesenko 2006: 140 [in key], 141 [♂, illustration], 143 [♂, illustration], 145 [in key], 153–154.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. nipponicola Sakagami & Tadauchi from eastern Asia. It is separated from L. nipponicola by the female mesoscutum and mesoscutellum not mixed with dark hairs (only pale yellowish to brown hairs), the lower declivitous surface of female T1 with denser PP (IS = 2 d in maximum; white arrow in Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5. A, B ), and the apical part of the hair tuft on the male S6 longitudinally elongate ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7. A – D ).

In contrast, in L. nipponicola , the female mesoscutum and mesoscutellum are mixed with dark hairs, the lower declivitous surface of female T1 has sparser PP (IS = 4.5 d in maximum; white arrow in Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5. A, B ), and the apical part of the hair tuft on the male S6 is small and short ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8. A – D ).

Specimens examined. (n = 14) [ South Korea] GW: 1♀, Bougmyong-ri, Dongsan-myon, Chunchon-gun, 21. vii. 1992 (K. Kanmiya, ELKU); 2♀, Mt. Gariwang-san, Jeongseon-gun, 30. vii. 2013 (R. Seoul: 1♀, Mt. Dobong-san, Dobonggu, 22. ix. 1984 (M.W. Kwon, QIA). GG: 7♀, Kwangnung, Pochon-gun, 16. vii. 1992, 18. vii. 1992, 19. vii. 1992 (K. Kanmiya, ELKU); 1♂, Suigen (now Suwon), 1. viii. 1927 (K. Sato, ELKU). JJ: 1♀, Mt. Halla-san, alt. 1600–1700 m, 25. vii. 1990 (O. Tadauchi, ELKU).

Distribution. North Korea, South Korea (new record), Japan, China Russian Far East, Siberia.

Flight period in South Korea. Female: May to September. Male: August. In Japan, male flies from August to September (Murao 2014).

Biology. Sakagami et al. (1966) reported on the biology of this species (as Lasioglossum ezoense ) as univoltine and strictly solitary, with nest structure type IIIa of Sakagami & Michener (1962). In Sapporo city (Hokkaido, Japan), overwintered gynes initiate nests from mid June, and the next generation emerged in late August.
