Bas.:— Haworthia reinwardtii var. chalumnensis Smith (1943: 99) ≡ Haworthia reinwardtii f. chalumnensis (G.G.Sm.) Bayer (1976: 106) . Type:— SOUTH AFRICA. Eastern Cape: on the banks of the Chalumna River, 48.3 km west of East London [QDS: 3327BA], 1934, G.G. Smith 513 (holotype NBG0068486!; isotype NBG, PRE).

Distribution: —Although various plants occurring near Chalumna and the adjacent Tyolumnqua River (Eastern Cape, South Africa) are often considered as this form, it appears as if the typical robust form is only found from near the Chalumna police station.
